About this site

CreativeFortWayne.net is meant to be an online hub to further develop the quality of life in Fort Wayne, connect members of its 'Creatives' to one another, encourage contribution, discussion and participation and continue to grow Fort Wayne's creative economy.

It is also meant to highlight individuals and organizations working in the creative field of ideas and content creation. Examples include the obvious fields of art, design, music, writing, acting, media and entertainment, as well as the less obvious fields of education, engineering, finance, law, health care and so on. For a starting point, see Carnegie Mellon University Professor Richard Florida's book The Rise of the Creative Class. This site grew as an extension of Richard Florida's visit to Fort Wayne and is meant to be a grass-roots, bottom-up approach to positive growth and change. Its usefullness and direction are dependent on your participation.

Comments and feedback are essential and highly encouraged for each post. Posts are made by volunteer contributors and suggestions are always welcome. Please leave your email address or URL with your post so that others can identify you. This site relies on the participation of volunteers and visitors; there is no staff! Please use the Contact form to be notified of new posts, suggest a post idea, poll question or site feature, or look into becoming a volunteer site contributor. We need you! That said, blatant self promotion or 'spamming' will not be tolerated. Posts and comments are meant to bring people together for discussion of different experiences and viewpoints rather than divide.
